President's Message

Hope you have all had a lovely Easter and Royal Wedding weekend! This weeks meeting involves the lovely Janes Hickson and Mann, both recently qualified as Advanced Pilates Instructors, taking us on a practical exploration of pilates. Remember to wear some comfy moveable clothes!

We will also be voting on this years Resolutions. Please look on line or in the WI mag for details. www.thewi.org.uk/resolutions or pg 15 of the magazine. Basically 1) to campaign against library closures and 2) to campaign against the large scale factory farming of large animals (mostly pigs and cows).

The local elections and AV vote are on the same day as WI so don't forget to vote!!

Ball tickets are selling fast so if you haven't already got yours come prepared!! Balance for Ball tickets needs to be paid at Junes meeting, so if you want to spread the cost you can pay some off this week!

About Upton Village WI

Upton Village WI was formed in January 2008, the brain-child of a few friends who realised that they were in danger of losing friendships forged at playgroups when their children moved on to school. They also wanted to create a place for friendship, fun and support. They were inspired by the WI's work and their forward-looking attitude and wanted to be a part of it.

Since 2008 Upton Village WI has been Live and Let WI ball fund-raising, wall climbing, high-wire aerial adventuring, Dragon Boat racing, Gin tasting and Partying in the Park to name but a few. It offers a diverse range of talks & activities to a diverse range of members but the emphasis is definitely on having fun. No jam, Jerusalem or naked calendars....yet!

New members are always welcome and encouraged and we have had a steady stream of new ladies since we were incorporated.
