Do you like watching movies? Often can't agree with your partner about what to see or don't like going to the cinema on your own? Then come and join us for a friendly and fun night out.
A group for anyone interested in local living, promoting local shopping, using local amenities and helping to improve the local environment. The group also arranges the Upton Village WI annual 'Picnic in the Park' event held at Wealstone Lane playing fields and participates in the tea and cakes every other month for the Farmers Market at Mill View School.
General Information
This is the members' opportunity to get what they want from the WI, they can form as many or as few groups as they want, there are no rules.
For a group to form all that is needed is a co-ordinator and some interested members. They can be formed at any time, they just need someone to start the ball rolling.
Once a Group is established details of the group can be printed on the main WI diary along with the contact details of the Group co-ordinator.
Some groups may need a little funding from the main WI body if a special project is being undertaken for the benefit of the whole group.
Many issues and appeals that a WI encounters can be met by a Group such as competitions, campaigns and debates; they provide the opportunity to get involved without having to involve the whole membership.
All members are welcome to come along to the groups so please come and join us.
