Young Carers

Upton Village WI has chosen St John's Ambulance Cheshire Young Carers to be their nominated charity for 2009.

The Cheshire Young Carers is for young people aged 6-18 who spend time caring for a person in their family. They run a meeting group, which meets for 4 sessions per week in the evenings and some weekends, that gives children a break from caring through fun and educational activities.

A free transport service is provided from the young carer's home to the youth club or to the activity venue. They also run week long residential trips, play-schemes and parent visits. A 24-hour emergency support line is also available.

They cover the Chester, Ellesmere Port and Neston and Vale Royal areas.
